What is the difference between an ID-mount pipe beveller and a split-frame pipe cutter?

An ID-mount beveller clamps inside the pipe and machines an open pipe end: bevel, facing, excess material removal. A split-frame cutter mounts around the outside of the pipe and can cut and bevel anywhere along a line, without needing an open end.

How do I choose a pipe beveller by pipe size?

Start from the pipe's inside diameter: it must fall within the model's clamping range. The PBM series goes from 20–42 mm on the PBM-1625 to 180–609 mm on the PBM-24000; the specification table lists the range of every model.

Which drive options are available?

PBM models come in electric, pneumatic and hydraulic versions. The PBM-1625, the most compact model, is also available with a Li-ion battery and with manual lever feed.

Why bevel by machine instead of grinding?

A machine produces the same bevel geometry pipe after pipe, reduces operator fatigue and shortens preparation time. Consistent preparation is the basis for welds that pass radiographic inspection.
